Hi Terry I appreciate your comments, but we’re saddened by them. In the church tradition I grew up in, and now am an ordained minister in, have always been encouraged to say, “I don’t know.” This does not mean we don’t speculate, hold robust debate, and look at how different people and traditions wrestled with tough questions. And after the discussion, often, “I don’t know” is or remains the most reasonable answer. Hopefully your tradition will move to be as honest as the one I come from.
